What a world, what a world.

I was just perusing the internet and discovered that not only do I have a myspace music page that I was unaware of, but as well I seem to have a twitter following under the name 'bcaptain'. My gut tells me two different things; which is odd because normally it says one thing or the other. "Feed me now, lest I revolt against you and plummet your blood sugar, turning you into an insufferable bastard!" But herein, it's saying, "Leave it alone, Brandon. There's no harm in someone pretending to be you..." As well as, "Brandon! You dip! 4600 people are following an impersonator and telling them to watch tv! Find this person and dispose of them immediately!"

So! I am choosing to strike somewhere down the middle. I have decided to listen to my gut but in the most pragmatic of ways. I will do nothing about this impersonator (and the others out there in the fancy land of the inter-web) and let you guys decide what you want to do. Just know that it is not me on Twitter or boydbrandon1 on myspace. I do not twitter and I never have. I'm sure it's fun and interesting and I must applaud it's potential as a tool for decisive change in Iran. But I have not caught on yet. I will say it once again, I do not have a Twitter.

Regardless of that bullshit, Incubus played the first show of our tour last night in San Diego! Ah, yes... San Diego; a whale's vagina. It was a really fun night! Thank you to all who were there and thanks for making our first big show back as painless as it could be. As you could imagine, first shows back after a year off the road can be rusty, and last night wasn't an exception. But you guys out there made it easy on us and it really seemed like the connection was made! The drugs worked, the wind was blowing off shore, the right guy was elected, the seas parted, hands were held, lips were kissed, arms were outstretched and the stars aligned! So, in no uncertain terms, thank you!

Tonight we blast off into the stars at the Santa Barbara Bowl! And tomorrow, we venture into the desert for a one night stand in Vegas. Then to Monday when we finally try our hand at the Hollywood Bowl! We are very excited indeed.

As far as the traveling art show goes, I am afraid it has proven to be logistically impossible at this time. This I am saddened by, but not necessarily surprised. It was difficult enough to transport my works from one end of Los Angeles to the other, let alone safely deliver them to multiple cities. So, I apologize, but there will be no roaming art installations this time around. The goods news is that I am going to reassert those efforts this Fall into a new series of paintings and actually do a small art tour at some point in the near future!

Then we have the TOMS (Shoes)/ Undefeated event coming up this September! Artist and friend, Kristin Klosterman and I labored over enormous canvas' last week on the floor of her studio and created what will be dozens of shoes for TOMS. You know TOMS; when you buy a pair they give a pair to a child in need. I am sure we will have more details on the event taking place in Southern California very soon. In short order, our paintings will be turned into shoes that will be sold at Undefeated and proceeds will benefit numerous philanthropic organizations! Fun!

Anyway, thanks for listening to my rants. I hope to see some of you this Summer on our tour! And may the force be with you.

I was a huge fan of Michael Jackson when I was a kid and to send you off, here is one of my favorite quotes from the King of Pop.

"Darkness falls across the land
The midnight hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize y'alls neighborhood...

The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom!"

I left out Vincent Price laughing fiendishly because I know you all would fill that part in on your own.

Love and Lots of light!
